I just started college, I paid for it myself, with no Financ

Question: I recently started college. I'm 22, I live with my mother, however I dont believe she has claimed me for a while. I file a 1040ez form, and do the e-file. I do not own my own home, and do not itemize. I did not receive any financial aid this year, I just paid for it out of my own pocket. I received what I believe is 1098-T from my school. When I file my taxes, how do I go about claiming this, if I can?

Answer: You bet you can claim it!!

I've found some good information here...

Good Luck.

Others:

You cannot file the 1040ez form if you wish to claim the tuition credit. You need to file a 1040. Don't worry, it gives you the same tax rate, etc., just is a longer form to fill out. You will answer a lot of questions with a zero or blank, but the tuition credit is on this form. It is well worth your while if you owe taxes. 1040 is very easy to fill out as I said, just more boxes that you will not even need to fill out.
