In our current economic climate is it risky to get student l

Question: I'm paying out of pocket for PT classes mainly b/c I'm afraid to bite the bullet and wind up with a huge student loan debt. I don't even know if there will be a job available when I graduate to pay that debt.

Answer: Hello!

I don't think it will cause you any problems personally if you continue to go to school and you graduate, then quickly seek employment. If you are in school now, I am sure in a few years when you graduate the job market will be looking alot better. It's always easier to find a job if you have a degree anyways.

Make sure you follow the rules for the loan - I think some loans say that you have to take a certain amount of credits each semester, and you cannot stop taking courses or then the loan is due immediately, instead of at the end of the semester.

Have you applied for Financial Aid? Anyone who makes less than like $50,000 a year can normally get SOMETHING. Go onto fafsa.gov and apply for it. Maybe you can get some financial aid AND loans, so that way you won't owe so much when you graduate.

Good luck!
