Question: Every time I look for a scholarship online, or at a school office, the same thing always happens. I don't meet some of the ridiculous requirements. There was this one scholarship, where i had to write a minimum of 15 pages to possibly win 100 dollars., i was like screw that, thats pointless. The hours they ask you to put into some of these scholarship requirements is stupid, you might as well work minimum wage.
I also find that i always run into scholarships that deal entirely with race, sexuality, or amount of charity work.
Can't a person with good grades, in need of some financial assistance, get even a small bursary? I don't mean to sound insensitive but is it necessary for EVERY scholarship to be about overcoming adversity, is there one out there that I can apply for that i fit the requirements of?
Answer: Getting a scholarship in Canada is pretty impossible in my circumstances as well.
You might as well start playing the lottery. Your chances are gonig to better.
Others:
there are many hundreds of scholarships, bursaries and awards available in Canada. Some are available depending on where you attended high school (Ensign Chaney), some depend on where your parents have worked (CN/CP), some require that you were an outstanding scholar, athlete, or community leader. Some are available for people who were in the Children's Aid. Some are for students who can show financial need.
Virtually every one of the requires that you complete some sort of application, which may include an essay or detailed financial statements or some other proof of eligibility.
You need to search carefully for ones for which you qualify.
