Question: i want to work with old people . and help them out .. is it a good job?
Answer: It depends if you are a CNA, LPN or RN. All 3 work in retirement homes.
CNA's make $8-14/hour
LPN's make $18-25/hour
RN's make $24-40/hour
Go to google and search for a website called O*Net - it stands for Occupational Network - you can do a search for all 3 nurses and see what the differences in daily responsibilities, duties, and wages nationally and state-by-state. I hope this helps.
Good luck in your nursing career :)
Others:
YES it is a great job! I used to work as a CNA, it is a very hard job emotionally and physically, in the case of a CNA. But it is so rewarding! For nurses, they are always happy working in nursing homes! I asked one of the RNs where I worked if she liked, she said she loved it. I think depends where you live, what state, but I would check on www.salary.com for pay. But this nurse told me that nursing homes pay more than any other places. Being a nurse opens you great possibilities!
