QUESTION: Environmental science as a college major?

Question: I'm a high school junior interested in hydrology and energy solutions so I'm wondering if a major in environmental science would go over those things. I have a great understanding of biology, pretty good understanding of chemistry, but lack a physics background since I'm probably not going to/haven't taken physics in HS...

What does it entail and how's the job outlook? I know it would be a lot of hard work...

If there is a course in geology at your high school that would probably help. I majored in Ecology which is similar to Environmental Science. I was more in the wildlife ecology and conservation end of ecology. The website I listed above is a really good site that should be able to answer your question.

Others:

You could major in engineering, which goes over more of the how-to's of how to fix these things, while environmental science would give you more of a broad sense of the problem.
Environmental science majors have a good job outlook, because the government is starting to become more focused on these types of problems, but it is maybe even more so for engineering.
Maybe you could look into environmental science major, with an engineering minor?
This would give you a huge benefit, because you'd learn about the problems and the world, and you'd also learn exactly how you could fix them.

Hope I Helped!
