My BA was in a humanities field and the major drawback is that after college you are competing with thousands, hundreds of thousands of other humanities majors. While I do agree I got a wonderful well rounded education, a humanities major must remember that its stiff competition out there post undergrad. And while humanities majors are often great generalist, sometimes employers what specialist. I have plenty of friends who were various Humanities major and are in happy jobs, and many others who went on to grad school. Think about where you want to be in 5 or 10 years and plan accordingly the best you can.
