What should I do with my life?!?

Question: I really don't know what Im doing right now, I've been anxious and felt stagnant for years now. I only just turned 20 but I feel like Im wasting time. I have a job that I like but its not taking me anywhere. I have ambitions to change the world and I want to do something active. Right now I just go to work, come home, watch tv and surf the net, then go to sleep and start again. I applied to college but wasn't accepted and Im tired of community college. Anyone have any suggestions? Im not interested in the military and I've ruled out habitat for humanity because of the somewhat strict guidelines for volunteering. Anything you want to suggest is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Answer: I think everyone has trouble figuring out what they want to do. Relax, it's completely normal.

My suggestion is to take a wide variety of classes at your community college. I know it doesn't sound exciting, but trying different things is a good way to find something you enjoy doing or have a talent in. Other than that, just keep sticking things out. Eventually you'll find something you absolutely love.

Others:

join a technical collage that you can get a quick 2 year degree and get out at the workforce on a job that you like but does not need to be your dream job, gain some experience and go back to collage, collages will take you back more often if you have experience

You should focus and get a 2-year degree at a Community College, then you'll have a good chance of being accepted at a University.

Otherwise, consider joining the Peace Corps:

dude you totally read my mind... I was just about to ask the same question... we should just join forces & become a crime-fighting duo... or perhaps become pirates...

Perhaps it's not fair to answer a question with questions, but I'm going to try it. What skills do you have? What do you enjoy doing? What are some of your best personality traits?

Many communities have plenty of opportunities for volunteering. Perhaps dabbling at a few things as a volunteer will point you in the direction of something you like... And even if a particular volunteering gig isn't something you really enjoy, you'll know that you've helped someone.
