Program Detail : This course is a general introduction to employee benefit plans: what they include and how they are designed, administered, and evaluated. You study the most common types of discretionary benefits and learn how they are selected and administered.
The instructor outlines legal requirements, administrative problems, and options available, as well as government-mandated plans such as workers' compensation and Social Security. Important policy issues on sick leave, vacation, jury duty, and leaves of absence are described and related to organizational culture and policy. Special attention is given to the effects of tax reform and to other emerging developments in benefits planning.
