Program Detail : This course explores the non-reproductive aspects of women's health care, including both public health issues and basic medical information. The course focuses on the span between puberty and menopause. Topics include the formation of body image and the emergence of eating disorders, the science and politics of premenstrual syndrome and menopause, and diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The course ends with a look at women as health care consumers, particularly contemporary concerns about the health care delivery system, the limits of self help, and facilitating effective interactions with health care providers. Supervised final examination.
