Program Detail : This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of genetics at the molecular, organismal, and population levels. You learn about the molecular basis of gene function and mutation, Mendelian genetics, transmission systems, regulation of cellular processes, developmental genetics, cytoplasmic inheritance, population genetics, and multifactoral inheritance.
Prerequisites: Students must have completed a two-semester college course in biology; organic chemistry is recommended. This course is not open for credit to students who have completed Genetics 140 or 142 at UC Berkeley. Supervised final examination.
