Program Detail : This course is a study of the history of rotary wing aviation from the field's earliest experimentation to the present day. Course topics include early "autogiro" experiments, research and development of helicopters, their employment in wartime, and new rotary innovations. The course will also address the important doctrinal debate over the employment and use of helicopters as a contributing element in strategic air mobility concepts.
