Description : EOU conducts the Fire Services Administration (FSA) degree program in a consortium agreement with Western Oregon University (WOU), Chemeketa Community College, Portland Community College, and other community colleges and academies. The FSA program is designed to serve practicing fire services professionals seeking administrative credentials in municipal/structural fire departments and agencies. Emergency services professionals whose fields are ancillary to fire services (such as EMS) are also welcome, but must meet all municipal/structural FSA requirements.EOU (and WOU) do not provide lower division fire science offerings. Instead, they alternate sponsorship for upper-division "institutes," or required FSA courses, including "advanced" institutes. Any advanced institute meets the EOU capstone requirement. EOU's FSA program provides all upper division course requirements in both face-to-face and distance delivery modes, and recognizes credit for prior learning.The institutes are delivered through face-to-face settings and at a distance. Face-to-face classes primarily take place in Monmouth, Portland, western Washington, and eastern Oregon. Institutes provided at a distance are delivered through EOU web-based offerings and correspondence offerings through WOU.
