Description : This program is designed for individuals who work directly with special needs students in an educational setting. The program provides endorsements in the areas of Mental Retardation (MR), Behavioral Disorder (BD), Learning Disability (LD), and Reading Specialist (RS). This program is ideal for workers in the field who have not yet received licensure to teach in the classroom or endorsements in one or all four of the above categories. The program provides field-experience based projects giving the student practical, hands-on, and relevant experience in the field of special education. Special attention is given to addressing the practical and legal issues of working with special needs children and young adults.
