Description : This program is designed for the individual who has a unique desire to work with students and/or adults whose first language is not English. Individuals may or may not be traditional classroom teachers. This program satisfies course requirements for the English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement in the state of Virginia, provided the candidate has taken 6 credits of a foreign language at the undergraduate or graduate level. The TESOL program is offered online via the Internet, with the exception of a 杦eek summer residency offered one campus. Students who do not desire to pursue a full master抯 degree may opt to complete a 15-credit TESOL certificate. Certificate courses also satisfy the ESL endorsement requirements for the state of Virginia.
